PGA Championship Is Suffering From … Reptile Invasion?

The 2025 PGA Championship is WILD! (Literally)

With the Masters over, we’re now into our second major golf tournament of the year with the PGA Championship, with action currently going on in Charlotte, North Carolina at Quail Hollow Club. At the time of writing, Jhonattan Vegas holds a two-stroke lead with a -8 score following two rounds of play. If the lead holds, it’ll be Vegas’ first PGA Championship victory. But uh … he might have to go through a boatload of reptiles in order to get that win.

During 14th hole action of the second round Friday, Ryan Gerard attempted to chip his ball on the green, however, it continued to roll right into a sand trap. Following along with the ball, cameras caught a turtle who was just straight up chillin’.

To make it even crazier, the turtle was in the sand trap for such a long time that play had to be halted so the grounds crew could fix up the conditions on the course.

Shaun Carl Micheel was minding his business Friday when a huge snake came out of nowhere, slithering its way across the course fairway. Micheel didn’t have much interest in handling the situation, but fortunately for him, a volunteer dealt with it.

Holy reptile!
