New Orleans police captain a bona fide ‘spectacle’ at presser for escaped inmates

A story about ten New Orleans inmates making a Shawshank Redemption-style escape got even more bizarre when it came time for the press conference.

New Orleans Cpt. Stephanie Minto-Gibson is catching heat for her choice to wear comical glasses to an update about the successful escape attempt, at which time only one of the inmates had been caught.

Only one of the inmates has been caught as of this time after the group escaped by removing a toilet from the wall.

At a time when the focus should have been entirely on the incident and the men putting the local community at risk, all people could focus on was Minto-Gibson’s eyewear. This did not sit well with X users:

Now imagine hiring that person as the ‘security’ for your entire city.
