Congressional Republicans are pushing back hard against the Democrats’ fearmongering over their so-called “cuts to Medicaid.”
What Republicans are actually trying to do is cut off illegal aliens and lazy, able-bodied Americans who don’t want to work hard.
“We’re making sure no illegals are going to be in the program,” Georgia Rep. Buddy Carter told The Daily Signal. “We are making sure people aren’t registered in more than one state. We’re making sure there are going to be work requirements.”
“To fear-monger that we’re trying to kick people off is simply untrue,” he added.

That’s not entirely correct. The Republicans are trying to kick people off Medicaid — but people who deserve to be kept off Medicaid. People such as illegal aliens, not to mention able-bodied adults who’re too lazy to work a minimum of just 20 hours a week.
“President Trump and Republicans are protecting Medicaid—and that starts with kicking 1.4 million illegal immigrants off the program to prioritize the Americans who need it,” White House spokesperson Kush Desai said in a statement to The Daily Signal.
Included in a budget reconciliation bill that Republicans are hurriedly working on piecing together is a markup that would remove from Medicaid “people without verified citizenship, nationality, or satisfactory immigration status who would [otherwise] be covered in state-only funded programs under current law.”
States like California, for instance, where the rabidly leftist legislators have had no issues with handing out American perks to illegals.
Did you know illegal aliens are receiving Medicaid?
California spends more in federal Medicaid dollars—much of it on illegal aliens—than Florida spends in its entire state budget.

The bill would also impose work requirements on able-bodied Medicaid recipients.
“Under the proposed legislation, people ages 19 to 64 would be required to show that they are working, doing community service or participating in an educational program for at least 80 hours a month,” according to USA Today. “Some adults – such as pregnant women, people with disabilities, and people who are caregivers of dependent children – would be exempt.”
But sadly, Democrats can’t help but lie, distort, and obfuscate about all this for political points.
“Republicans are rushing the markup and hoping to pass the bill in the middle of the night because they don’t want people to realize what’s in it, or how many Americans are going to lose their health care as a result,” a spokesperson for Democrats on the House Energy and Commerce Committee said.
“This is not a moderate bill, and it is not focused on cutting ‘waste, fraud, and abuse,’” committee ranking member Frank Pallone Jr. said in a statement. “Instead, Republicans are intentionally taking health care away from millions of Americans so they can give giant tax breaks to the ultra-rich who don’t need them.”

Lies, lies, and more lies.
Even the so-called “experts” agree with Republicans on this matter.
“The proposals are not benefit or service cuts, but commonsense administrative changes aimed at weeding out fraud, waste and abuse and bringing about much-needed transparency, accountability, and fairness to the program,” Nina Schaefer of the Center for Health and Welfare Policy at The Heritage Foundation told The Daily Wire.
Sally Pipes, the president and CEO of the Pacific Research Institute, added that “Republicans have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to restore fiscal sanity to Medicaid,” which is why she personally thinks they’re not going far enough with their proposals.
“States currently receive seven times more federal funding for covering the able-bodied under Obamacare’s expansion of the program than for covering Medicaid’s legacy population of pregnant women, the disabled, and children,” she said. “That discrepancy makes no sense.”

Republicans are backed by an RMG Research poll that found that nearly three-quarters of Americans support removing illegal aliens from Medicaid and adding more extensive work requirements for able-bodied Medicaid recipients.
