All-Women’s College Awards Transgender Biden Official Rachel Levine With Honorary Degree

Former Biden administration official Admiral Rachel Levine, a biological male, delivered the commencement address and received an honorary degree at Smith College, according to school documents.

Levine, a former Assistant Secretary for Health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), addressed the Class of 2025 at the private liberal arts women’s college in Northampton, Massachusetts, according to the 2025 Commencement program.

The former Biden official was one of four honorees selected to speak at the Smith’s commencement ceremony, as announced by the school on Feb. 20.

The commencement program listed Levine’s title as “Physician, Public Health Advocate,” highlighting that the former official “focused on the intersection of mental and physical health, treating children, adolescents and young adults.” (RELATED: Unearthed Emails Show Rachel Levine Discussing ‘Potential Revenue’ From Child Sex Change Procedures)

News of the college’s selection of Levine prompted protests from multiple groups on May 17 and May 18, according to a Women’s Declaration International USA, Inc. (WDI USA) statement obtained by the Daily Caller. These groups included the WDI USA, Democrats for an Informed Approach to Gender (DIAG), New England Women in Solidarity (NEWS) and the Independent Women’s Network (IWN).

“[T]he assembled protestors, who also represented [DIAG, NEWS and IWN], exhibited a banner proclaiming ‘Class of 19XX: We Remember When Women Were Adult Human Females’ and distributed information on their respective organizations and on Levine,” the statement said.

“Passersby responded with interest, surprise, support, and, in the case of one woman, enraged and incoherent yelling while running away from the site of the quiet protest,” the group claimed.

The WDI USA said the groups were joined by college alumni and locals who gathered in Northampton to voice their opposition.

While the Caller could not find video of the address to the women of Smith, the release from WDI USA said Levine advised those present to “think about how history will remember you.”

Levine’s commencement address and honorary degree have also sparked criticism from those on the right. A Leadership Institute spokesperson forwarded a statement from Olivia Krolczyk, a Fellow for the Leadership Institute’s “Women’s Leadership Program,” to the Caller in response to a request for comment.

“It seems the recognition of men disguised as women has not come to an end. Time and time again we see women’s spaces, sports, and opportunities stripped from those who truly deserve them. Smith College has made it clear: they prioritize ideology over fairness. To all prospective students—cross Smith off your list. To current donors—put your funding elsewhere,” she said.
