Pam Bondi Describes ‘Horrific’ Scene Outside Of Jewish Museum Where 2 Israeli Embassy Staff Were Killed

Attorney General Pam Bondi on Thursday described the “horrific” scene from outside of the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., following the deadly shooting of a young couple.

Two Israeli Embassy staffers, Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim, were fatally shot after the alleged suspect, 31-year-old Elias Rodriguez, opened fire on a group of people as they exited an event at the museum. Bondi, who said she watched one of the victim’s bodies be carried out, vowed that the suspect in the case will be “prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law” during an appearance on Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom.”

“It was horrific, I was out at the scene last night with Jeanine Pirro, who is our U.S. attorney and will be prosecuting this case … This is a pending investigation. What I can say is two beautiful young people were gunned down last night needlessly and I saw his body being taken away from the scene. That was horrific. No parents should have to be called and told that their children were violently murdered leaving a religious event at the Jewish Museum. That should never happen in this world and not in our country and this person will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” Bondi said. Bondi said while the investigation is ongoing, she ensured Americans that they will be safe and the violence “must stop.” She stated that she cannot give any information on whether Rodriguez is being cooperative with authorities, but did say that the Metro Police Department are working “hand in hand” with federal investigators.

Rodriguez was initially seen “pacing back and forth” outside of the museum and then opened fire with a handgun on a group of four people. Law enforcement said the he shouted “free Palestine” as he was being detained, leading them to believe the attack was targeted.

Yechiel Leiter, Israel’s ambassador to the U.S., told reporters that Lischinsky planned on proposing to Milgram and already had the engagement ring picked out.

“They had their entire lives in front of them and now it’s taken away and our job now is to be sure justice is served, and it will be served under [President] Donald Trump,” Bondi said.

The Israel Foreign Ministry said they were “shocked and horrified” by the event and stated that they will not “be deterred by terror.”

“We are shocked and horrified this morning by the news of the brutal terrorist attack that claimed the lives of two of our Embassy staff members in Washington — Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim. May their memory be a blessing,” the embassy said in a statement on X.

President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social that “hatred and racialism have no place in the USA” in response to the shooting.

“These horrible D.C. killings, based obviously on antisemitism, must end, NOW! Hatred and Radicalism have no place in the USA. Condolences to the families of the victims. So sad that such things as this can happen! God Bless You ALL!” Trump said.
