ICE agents targeted by angry mob after raid on San Diego restaurants

An angry mob targeted U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents as they carried out a raid at two San Diego-area restaurants, the latest example of Democrat-incited resistance of government efforts to deport criminal illegal aliens.

On Friday, the federal law enforcement officers conducted “worksite enforcement operations” at Buona Forchetta and Enoteca Buona Forchetta, a pair of popular eateries in the southern California city’s South Park neighborhood with video of the tense situation being posted to X as the agents are shouted at and pelted with objects thrown at them.

“It was very, very uncomfortable. They handcuffed everybody. The first ten minutes, they don’t give any explanation,” said Buona Forchetta general manager Renato Ametrano, according to Fox 5 San Diego.

“When I arrived, I saw that the workers were all sitting in chairs. They had plastic handcuffs around them,” said Pedro Rios, an activist with the American Friends Service Committee who was quoted by NBC San Diego.

“The ones that they took out, they not only placed handcuffs on them, but they also put chains on their legs as they were boarded onto the vehicles that transported them out of the area,” he added.

“Most of it is for show. They don’t need to be so heavy-handed and so militarized in their response, especially when they are attempting to arrest hardworking individuals,” Rios said.

“U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement can confirm that ICE San Diego conducted two worksite enforcement operations at Buona Forchetta and Enoteca Buona Forchetta Restaurants in San Diego, Ca,” said Southwest Team deputy press secretary Yasmeen Pitts O’ Keefe in a statement. “As this is an ongoing investigation, we have no further releasable information at this time,”

Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin shared the video and warned of what the ongoing attacks on ICE agents will eventually lead to.

“These groups interfering with ICE around the country are escalating their actions and it’s not going to end well. Only a matter of time before someone gets hurt,” he wrote on X.

The increasingly confrontational mobs have been egged on by elected Democrats like Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) who was caught on video physically assaulting ICE agents when a group of left-wing lawmakers stormed the Delaney Hall detention facility in Newark, New Jersey earlier this month.

Democrats have repeatedly demonized ICE for doing their jobs, and some like Minnesota Governor and failed vice presidential candidate “Tampon Tim” Walz likened agents to the Nazi Gestapo, tacitly encouraging violence against the officers, which as Melugin pointed out, isn’t going to a happy place.

In another ICE operation north of San Diego, agents carried out a raid on an underground night club in Los Angeles early Friday morning, taking 36 Taiwanese and Chinese nationals who are in the country illegally into custody

“Early this morning, HSI Los Angeles w/@EROLosAngeles & partners from the El Camino Real Financial Crimes Task Force conducted an enforcement operation in an underground nightclub. 36 Chinese and Taiwanese nationals were arrested for being illegally present in the U.S.,” Homeland Security Investigations of Los Angeles announced in a post to X, sharing video of the arrests.
