Cory Booker ‘Does Nazi Salute’ Just Like Musk, Legacy Media Cooked Over Responses [WATCH]

Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) is drawing attention after making a hand gesture at the end of a speech at the California Democratic Party convention on Saturday that closely resembled one previously described by critics as a “Nazi salute” when used by Elon Musk.

The moment, captured on video, quickly went viral on social media, prompting comparisons to recent backlash directed at Elon Musk for a similar gesture earlier this year.

Booker made the motion while concluding a 15-minute speech in front of a crowd of California Democrats.

The gesture, which involved extending his right arm outward and upward, immediately sparked commentary online, especially from conservative users who pointed to what they view as a clear double standard in media and political reactions.

Earlier this year, Elon Musk was accused of using a “Nazi salute” during a public event in January.

Musk clarified that the gesture meant “my heart goes out to you,” and the Anti-Defamation League later confirmed it was not a Nazi salute but rather an awkward motion misinterpreted by critics.

Despite this clarification, Musk received widespread condemnation from Democratic politicians and left-leaning commentators, with many accusing him of signaling to white supremacists.

In contrast, no elected Democrat officials or major media figures have issued statements about Booker’s use of a nearly identical gesture, prompting sharp responses from conservatives online.

Sara Rose, a conservative commentator, posted on X, “I’m literally shaking right now. Cory Booker is literally Hitler. I can’t wait for fake news to cover this as extensively as they did Elon when he gave his heart out to everyone!”

Influencer Gunther Eagleman posted the clip with the caption, “HOLY SH*T! Cory Booker is a straight up NAZI! WOW.”

Political commentator Collin Rugg added, “NEW: Democrat Senator Cory Booker appears to do a ‘Nazi’ salute in front of a large crowd of Democrats. I’m looking forward to the wall to wall coverage from the ‘honest’ and totally not biased media.”

The media response to the incident has remained minimal.

The lack of coverage has fueled claims of bias among journalists and elected officials, particularly in contrast to the widespread condemnation Musk faced for a comparable action.

In the wake of Musk’s gesture in January, multiple Democrats were outspoken in their criticism.

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) raised the issue during a Senate hearing, questioning Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) about the gesture when she was nominated for U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) also criticized the Anti-Defamation League after it clarified Musk’s motion was not a Nazi salute.

“They are defending a Heil Hitler salute that was performed and repeated for emphasis and clarity,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote at the time.

The Booker incident has reignited debates over selective outrage, media consistency, and partisan responses to politically charged gestures.

As of Sunday evening, Booker’s office had not issued a statement regarding the gesture or the criticism that followed.

No major Democratic leaders or members of the California Democratic Party have commented publicly on the matter.

The contrast in response continues to drive discussion online, with many conservatives pointing to the situation as further evidence of an ongoing media and political double standard.
