Border czar Tom Homan warned Tuesday on “The Ingraham Angle” that congressional members “vilifying” U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Border Patrol agents could cause someone to potentially “lose a life.”
Since President Donald Trump vowed to conduct a mass deportation of illegal migrants with criminal records, Democrats have pushed back against the administration’s agenda. Fox host Laura Ingraham told the border czar that ICE agents are “dealing with a lot” when making public arrests, just after airing videos of bystanders protesting agents in the field.
“It is disgusting. A lot of our congressional representatives who are vilifying ICE and the Border Patrol every day. They’re driving this hate. I’m telling you, it’s only a matter of time before there’s an incident where an ICE agent is going to have to take a life or an ICE agent is going to lose a life,” Homan said.
“Here’s the truth. Under President Trump, since he’s been back, let me tell you what ICE and the Border Patrol has done,” Homan added. “They gave us the most secure border in the history of this nation. Fentanyl trafficking is down over 50%, which means we’re saving lives from overdose deaths. Sex trafficking in women and children is down significantly. Migrant death, over 4,000 aliens died making the journey. They’re not dying because they’re not coming.”
On Friday, ICE agents were seen in videos posted online surrounded by protesters in San Diego, Calif., after carrying out an operation at two restaurants in the area. In response to the rallying against the agents, Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told Newsweek that “over 250 protesters verbally harassed ICE agents, pounded on car windows, and even blocked roadways to prevent ICE from leaving.” (RELATED: Megyn Kelly Guest Says Chris Cuomo ‘Can Screw Off’ After ‘Insane’ Monologue About Laken Riley, Illegal Immigration)

Protests from bystanders come after three Democrat lawmakers and a Democrat mayor in New Jersey participated in a chaotic protest at an ICE detention center, resulting in Democrat New Jersey Rep. LaMonica McIver being charged with assaulting law enforcement officers.
“A quarter million Americans died from fentanyl. Again, fentanyl is under half of what was coming across. President Trump is saving lives,” Homan said. “The men and women of ICE are saving lives every day. If you look at the numbers, the numbers don’t lie. The majority of people ICE are arresting are criminal illegal aliens, public safety threats.”
“The non-criminals, most of them are scooped up in sanctuary cities. You’re right. The world’s upside down when the guy that carries the badge and gun [are] the bad guy, and the ones who break the law are the victims. It’s just terrible. It’s upside down. It’s just incredible,” Homan said.
In addition to protesting at ICE detention centers, Democrats like Maryland Sen. Chris Van Hollen have taken taxpayer-funded trips down to El Salvador in defense of illegal migrant Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia.
Garcia was deported by the Trump administration in March, and despite the Department of Justice releasing documents on the illegal migrant’s alleged connection to the MS-13 gang, Democrats continued to advocate for his return to the U.S.
According to ICE data released in April, the agency has arrested 66,463 illegal aliens and removed 65,682, with three in four arrests being criminal illegal migrants.
