Comer Investigating ‘Impersonation of the President’ by Biden ‘Autopen’ Aides [WATCH]

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) revealed Wednesday that the committee is investigating whether Joe Biden was aware of the executive actions issued in his name during his time in office, some of which may have been signed using an autopen.

The investigation is part of a broader probe into Biden’s capacity while serving as president and who was actually making policy decisions within the administration.

The matter was discussed during a House Oversight subcommittee hearing titled “NGOs Gone Wild,” chaired by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), where Comer said the committee plans to conduct transcribed interviews with Biden’s former physician and White House staff.

The Department of Justice is also reportedly examining Biden’s use of the autopen during his presidency.

“We will be conducting transcribed interviews of a number of former White House officials to understand who was really making the decisions for President Biden,” Comer stated.

“And hopefully we’ll get the truth [to] the American people.”

The inquiry follows growing concerns over Biden’s cognitive health and a recent report that the former president has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer.

These developments have intensified scrutiny into whether Biden was actively involved in significant executive decisions made during his term.

A new report by the watchdog group Power the Future alleges that Biden used the autopen to authorize at least eight major climate and energy-related executive actions without publicly acknowledging them.

Daniel Turner, the group’s president, testified before the committee on Wednesday.

Turner stated that these actions amounted to the impersonation of the president, as there is no record of Biden publicly discussing the policies.

“Staffers, of course, have a lot of leniency in what they do working on behalf of the president,” Turner said, “but these executive orders that we identified, there’s no evidence of Joe Biden in first person in his voice as president talking about them.”

Among the eight executive actions questioned were:

  • An offshore drilling ban affecting 625 million acres of the Outer Continental Shelf
  • A pledge to have the entire federal government reach net-zero emissions by 2050
  • A Defense Production Act memorandum promoting solar panels and heat pumps
  • An Arctic drilling ban
  • A requirement for artificial intelligence data centers to use clean energy
  • A federal hiring preference for AmeriCorps alumni
  • The creation of a Climate Change Support Office
  • A mandate for federal agencies to assess climate-related financial risks

Turner raised concerns about the pause on liquefied natural gas (LNG) export permits, highlighting the economic consequences.

“When you ban the export of liquid natural gas, and you never get asked about it in person, one has to wonder if Joe Biden did or if a staffer did it on his behalf,” he said.

He cited a reported conversation between House Speaker Mike Johnson and Biden, in which Johnson brought up the LNG permit pause and Biden allegedly responded, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Turner suggested this could indicate that Biden was unaware of his own administration’s policies.

“At the time, that was understood as, ‘Wow, maybe the president’s a little worse off than we realized,’ but maybe two things can be true,” Turner said.

“Maybe he really didn’t know what Speaker Johnson was talking about. Maybe he had no idea he passed this executive order.”

Comer responded, “It is bizarre.”

Turner concluded that the LNG export pause had real-world consequences.

“Lives were destroyed. People went bankrupt because of that, and we have no evidence that Joe Biden himself actually…” Turner began, before Comer interjected: “We haven’t found any evidence either.”
