Actor Patrick Renna, known for his role as Hamilton “Ham” Porter in the 1993 baseball film The Sandlot, made a special appearance Saturday night with the Savannah Bananas during the team’s west coast stop at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California.
As Yahoo Sports reported, the event was part of the Bananas’ ongoing World Tour.
Renna stepped up to the plate for a cameo at-bat and delivered a moment straight out of the film.

Mimicking his character’s iconic confidence, he pointed to the outfield to call his shot.
Although he didn’t knock the ball out of the park, the crowd erupted in cheers as the nostalgic moment played out on the field.
Renna faced off against a pitcher from the Firefighters, an opposing team within the Banana Ball League. After a swing and a miss, followed by a foul ball, Renna popped out to second base.

True to character, he shouted toward the pitcher, “Come on DeNunez, you call that the heater?”—a direct reference to a line from The Sandlot.
The crowd gave Renna a loud ovation as he entered and exited the field, with fans of all ages showing appreciation for the surprise appearance.

In addition to Renna’s appearance, Saturday’s game included another crossover moment, as characters from Disneyland—including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Goofy—took the field during play to participate in a dance performance alongside the team.
