President Donald Trump said on Truth Social Sunday that Los Angeles has been “invaded and occupied by Illegal Aliens and Criminals” and accused “violent, insurrectionist mobs” of attacking federal agents during ongoing deportation operations.

Trump announced directives for key officials — including Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and Attorney General Pam Bondi — to “take all such action necessary to liberate Los Angeles from the Migrant Invasion, and put an end to these Migrant riots.”

“Order will be restored, the Illegals will be expelled, and Los Angeles will be set free,” Trump said.
Local residents and politicians, including California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass, have condemned the deployment as an abusive overreach that risks further inflaming tensions. Meanwhile, the Pentagon earlier this month said it had mobilized forces to assist federal law enforcement in Los Angeles, consistent with ongoing ICE enforcement sweeps.
