Television legend David Hasselhoff, best known for his iconic role on Baywatch, has sparked concern after being seen in a wheelchair at two major airports.
At 72 years old, Hasselhoff appeared noticeably frail as he navigated travel just weeks after the tragic suicide of his ex-wife, Pamela Bach.
The once-vibrant actor, long admired for his beachside heroism on-screen, was spotted being pushed in a wheelchair by attendants at Cancun International Airport in Mexico.

Shortly after, he was seen again at Los Angeles International Airport, this time managing to slowly ease himself out of the wheelchair—though clearly leaning heavily on his 45-year-old wife, Hayley Roberts, for support.

Despite the visible physical strain, Hasselhoff remained characteristically upbeat. He smiled and gave a thumbs-up to nearby cameras, trying to maintain his well-known charm.

But sources close to the star suggest a more troubling reality behind the public gestures.
“David is living on borrowed time and has lived hard,” a close insider revealed to Daily Mail. “He had a life that people could only dream of but he also spent decades self-medicating through alcohol and other substances, which he does regret.”
Hasselhoff’s health, according to those around him, has been in decline for some time, largely due to the lasting effects of chronic alcoholism. Though he is reportedly sober today, the toll of his past lifestyle is becoming harder to ignore.
“He is in his 70s and has had several major operations including having a defibrillator fitted to prevent a heart attack,” the source continued. “He is sober now but knows that every surgery could be the last.”
Rest in Peace, Pamela Bach. Bach was the first wife of David Hasselhoff, and they shared two children. During his recent return through LAX, Hasselhoff confirmed to fans that he is due for another procedure, stating that he will be undergoing knee surgery “next week.”
Hasselhoff’s history of alcohol abuse has been widely documented and played a significant role in the breakdown of his marriage to Pamela Bach.
The two married in 1989 and had two daughters together, only to divorce in 2006 after a long and turbulent relationship.
Their post-divorce years were no less combative, with spousal support battles lasting until 2017.
In a 2008 interview, Bach didn’t hold back about her former husband’s struggles.
“Everybody thought he was the golden star in swimming trunks on the beach with Pamela Anderson but the drink was taking over his life,” she said. “To me, he was the man who fell over on the bedroom floor.”
On May 3, 2007, a viral YouTube video surfaced showing David Hasselhoff, filmed by his daughter Taylor Ann, drunkenly struggling to eat a cheeseburger in Las Vegas. She added poignantly, “He has a disease, just like cancer. And just like cancer, it ate away at our family from the inside.”
Tragedy struck the Hasselhoff family again earlier this year when Pamela Bach took her own life on March 5.
The 61-year-old was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in her Hollywood Hills home. Heartbreakingly, one of the couple’s adult daughters discovered her body.
Though Hasselhoff did not attend Bach’s funeral, he released a public statement expressing his grief. “Our family is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Pamela Hasselhoff,” he posted on March 6.
“We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult period but kindly request privacy as we grieve and navigate through this challenging time.”
The recent events paint a sobering picture of a man who once embodied California vitality and TV heroism.
