‘Anywhere From 8-12 Years Old’: Little Kids Randomly Attack Transgender Woman With Acid-Like Chemical

A transgender woman was sent to a hospital June 1, 2025, for chemical burns after being attacked in the streets of Philadelphia.

Authorities are searching for “three juvenile male” suspects who were recorded at the scene of the incident and afterward boarding a train, a press release posted June 6 by the Philadelphia Police Department (PPD) reads. Authorities believe it’s a case of aggravated assault.

The incident itself happened outside of the camera range.

“In my opinion, they were anywhere from 8-12 years old,” Cpt. Robert McKeever of the PPD’s Southwest Detectives Division told WPVI about the suspects. Authorities believe there was no prior history between the suspects and their victim in the lead up to the attack.

“She was walking down the street going to her destination with her earphones in, so there was no interaction, nothing led up to this event,” McKeever said.

“They were walking towards her,” Shiloh Colon, a friend of Diana’s, said, “She said that they stopped and then they threw the acid.”

Police claim that the suspects were seen on the train platform prior to the incident.

“They were walking around with a cup,” McKeever said. Police are still trying to determine what chemical was in the cup, where it came from, and why the suspects had it.

The GoFundMe page for the victim claims that the chemical was “later identified as a corrosive acidic fluid, assumed to be battery acid.” Colon thinks the attack was a hate crime. Diana was in that section of Philadelphia on that day to celebrate the first day of Pride month, the GoFundMe page reads.

Police say they are investigating the attack from multiple angles, but think it might have been a random assault, WPVI reported.  (RELATED: Previously-Woke Companies Retreat From Pride Month During Trump 2.0)

The attack left Diana with 3rd- and 2nd-degree burns on multiple parts of her body.

“Diana has been in full body gauze since the attack and will need at least two skin grafts; however doctors are telling her to be prepared for multiple surgeries,” the GoFundMe read.

The funds raised will cover Diana’s expenses during the hospitalization and recovery periods. So far over $68,000 has been raised.
