Vance Boelter, 57, was taken into custody Monday night following a two-day manhunt in connection with the targeted shootings of two Minnesota state lawmakers and their spouses.
Authorities confirmed that Boelter, who is accused of impersonating a police officer during the attacks, was located and apprehended without further incident.
Boelter is alleged to have carried out a coordinated and premeditated assault over the weekend, resulting in the deaths of Minnesota State Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark Hortman.

State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, were also shot but survived the attack.
Law enforcement officials have classified the incident as a targeted act of political violence.
The suspect reportedly used a black SUV outfitted with police-style emergency lights and a fake “Police” license plate to gain access to the victims’ homes.
According to investigators, Boelter approached the residences while wearing body armor, a black tactical vest, and a realistic silicone mask.

He allegedly claimed to be responding to a reported shooting as a law enforcement officer before opening fire.
Boelter abandoned the SUV following a shootout with police officers.
The vehicle was later recovered by authorities, who discovered a number of items inside, including a manifesto, a large number of “No Kings” protest flyers, and an extended list of intended targets.
Officials have now confirmed the existence of a kill list containing the names of at least 60 state and federal elected officials.

Though the full manifesto has not yet been made public, its existence is under review by state and federal agencies.
Law enforcement has not released information regarding a possible motive or any ideological affiliations.
However, materials found in the vehicle are being reviewed as part of the broader investigation into whether additional targets were in danger.
Boelter’s background includes work with a private security company known to have operations in Africa and the Middle East.
He reportedly held the position of chief of patrols for the firm, which sources have identified as contracted through e-commerce platform Temu.
In addition, Boelter had been appointed as a private sector ambassador to a state development board by Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
Authorities have not indicated whether any connections to these roles are relevant to the investigation.
His wife, Jennifer Boelter, is listed in company filings as having shared management responsibilities in the security firm.
No charges have been filed against her at this time, and law enforcement has not commented on whether she is being investigated.
Boelter was ultimately captured on a trail camera, which led law enforcement to his location.
The investigation is being led by Minnesota state authorities in coordination with federal law enforcement.
Four counts of second-degree m*rder, not premeditated.
How on earth do you charge someone with m*rder that is not premeditated if they claim it was by as*as*ination and a manifesto was found in the vehicle? pic.twitter.com/Q3x8hlCNqn

The attack, which left two public officials wounded and two others dead, has prompted heightened security measures for elected officials across the state.
Authorities have not ruled out the possibility of additional arrests or expanded threats based on the contents of the kill list and the manifesto.
As the investigation continues, officials say more information will be released in coordination with prosecutorial decisions.
