‘The View’ denies cutting off Javier Bardem’s anti-Israel rant, ‘Hamas propaganda’

An Academy Award-winning, longstanding critic of Israel took heat Monday after “The View” became a platform for “antisemitism” before allegedly cutting off “Hamas propaganda.”

The situation in the Middle East escalated to the point that President Donald Trump cut short meetings with world leaders Monday to return to Washington, D.C. Naturally, that meant longtime activist Javier Bardem would take time from promoting his new film to accuse Israel of committing genocide in Gaza.

Appearing alongside the ladies of ABC’s “The View” hours before he donned a keffiyeh-patterned “Palestine” pin at the premiere of “F1: The Movie,” Bardem argued that elected leaders weren’t listening to what the people were saying about Israel’s response to Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023 terror attack on the Jewish state before the segment came to a close.

After acknowledging the pins worn by co-hosts Alyssa Farah Griffin and Sara Haines, recognizing the hostages held by the terrorists, the actor proceeded to spew what Media Research Center’s associate editor Nicholas Fondacaro referred to as “Hamas propaganda” while accusing Israel of murdering children.

Again, The View becomes a hot bed for political hatred and antisemitism.

“The situation in Gaza has come to a term now where I cannot express the pain I, along with many millions of people there, suffer on a daily basis watching those horrible images of children being murdered and starving to death; being absolutely blocked the aid of medicines, water, medical material; kids that have been amputated without anesthesia; people that — yesterday there were shot 25 people were shot while they were looking for humanitarian aid in what they call the ‘Hunger Games,’” contended the actor.  “I mean, experts on international law … and Holocaust survivors are calling it genocide … and if you ask me, I believe it’s a genocide.”

“First of all, because the impunity that it’s taking Israel in doing these actions and the lack of action of any government,” he went on as he referenced economic and arms support from the United States and silence from Europe, steering toward “an absolute impunity on creating wars all over.”

The topic was prompted by co-host Ana Navarro, who claimed “our community is being hunted down” in referencing how she and the guest both have Hispanic backgrounds before she asked, “Why is it so important for you to use your voice?”

“I don’t think it’s about using your voice — which it is — it’s about decency … decent as a human being and to not forget your humanity. And also the right we have as citizens … to draw a line in the sand so the politicians, those who are supposed to represent us, know that we are the voice and they have to hear us,” said Bardem.

In the past, the actor joined other Hollywood celebrities in accusing Israel of occupying Gaza, describing the actions of the Jewish state in 2014 as “advancing and invading Palestinian territories rather than withdraw[ing] to the ’67 borders,” an argument that was slammed by conservative actor Jon Voight as they “defamed the only democratic country of goodwill in the Middle East: Israel.”

A report from Decider emphasized that bumper music began to play over Bardem before he could finish his spiel as a commercial break began, but a source from the show denied that they cut to break over anything the actor was saying.

Meanwhile, the entire segment was shared on YouTube, but only the first half, before the Middle East came up, made it to the X feed of “The View.”

As Bardem was cheered by Hamas-sympathizers who argued, “It takes a lot to speak up like this in Hollywood,” others sounded off over the stance the actor maintained.
