Jim Acosta Mocks Donald Trump’s Dead Ex-Wife During Podcast Appearance [WATCH]

Jim Acosta, the former CNN White House correspondent, is facing widespread condemnation after joking about the burial site of President Donald Trump’s late ex-wife, Ivana Trump, during a podcast appearance, as reported by The New York Post.

The comment was made on a special “No Kings” Day episode of The Contrarian podcast, hosted by columnist Jennifer Rubin.

During the episode, Acosta mocked Trump’s immigration policies while referencing his marriages to immigrant women. He specifically referenced Ivana, who died in 2022 and is buried at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

“Where are the ICE raids at the Trump properties?” Acosta asked. “Could somebody call ICE on the Trump golf course in Virginia? You’re telling me there’s nobody in there that is undocumented or has some kind of squirreliness going on with their paperwork? Give me a break.”

Acosta continued, “How many immigrants has he married? He’s got one buried at his golf course in New Jersey! Isn’t she buried by the first hole or the second tee or something like that?” He followed up by joking, “Immigrants always doing the jobs that Americans don’t want to do!”

The exchange, which also featured left-leaning journalist April Ryan, was met with laughter from Rubin and Ryan.

Ivana Trump, a native of what is now the Czech Republic, was the mother of President Trump’s three eldest children: Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump.

She passed away in 2022 and was laid to rest on the grounds of the Bedminster golf course, in accordance with family arrangements.

The White House responded sharply to Acosta’s remarks. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told Fox News Digital:

“Jim Acosta is a disgraceful human being.”

Acosta, who departed CNN in January 2025, served as the network’s chief White House correspondent during President Trump’s first term.

He was often at odds with the Trump administration and became known for mixing commentary with his coverage. Since leaving CNN, Acosta has continued to speak critically of the Trump administration and its policies.

The controversy comes as tensions continue to rise in Los Angeles, California, where ICE operations have drawn protests across the city. The Los Angeles Police Department has arrested 575 individuals since the protests began, according to an official media release.

Demonstrators have reportedly thrown projectiles, set vehicles on fire, and launched fireworks at police officers. Ten law enforcement officers have sustained injuries as of Monday, the LAPD confirmed.

Acosta’s comments drew further scrutiny given the volatile atmosphere surrounding the enforcement of immigration laws and the protests in Los Angeles.

The backlash against his remarks added to ongoing criticism of media figures seen as dismissive or hostile toward those affected by immigration enforcement or toward the families of political figures.
