Dems, CDC insiders whine as HHS upends radical leftist agenda

Leftists are in an uproar over Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary RFK Jr.’s transformation of HHS from a hotbed of fake, loony leftist “science” to an institution steeped in real science.

“RFK Jr. is a disaster,” a leftist Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) grant specialist whined to The Times. “He is completely dismantling things to the point where the damage is going to become irreparable.”

Other leftists hidden within HHS shared similar grievances, complaining to The Times that Kennedy has reset health priorities, disrupted longstanding scientific “norms,” and cancelled thousands of “woke” research projects.

How has he disrupted so-called “norms”? By, for example, no longer championing puberty blockers and hormone therapy for teens. And by, as another example, no longer encouraging the consumption of the COVID-19 vaccine by pregnant women and children.

Leftists are so upset about these changes that those inside HHS who were fired don’t even want back in as their “contracts remain in limbo as federal judges review whether Kennedy’s mass terminations are lawful,” according to the Times.

“There’s been a number of different steps that we could take to potentially get back into the agency and I haven’t taken any of them,” one fired CDC worker kvetched. “What this administration is doing, whether it’s RFK, Trump or DOGE, is so antithetical to my own values that I can’t work there any more.”

What does the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) have to do with this? Its officers have reportedly been patrolling HHS to make sure its desired cuts are enacted.

“There is a constant sense that we’re being watched and monitored,” one HHS leftist lamented. “DOGE leadership are located several floors above but they have this omnipotent presence. We’re counted when we swipe our badges into the building.”

Leftists in office are equally upset with Kennedy and HHS. Speaking before the BIO International Convention in Boston on Tuesday, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro claimed RFK is “completely unqualified” for the job.

“It is dangerous to me that politicians are being rewarded for spewing absolute bullsh*t when it comes to vaccines,” he said, as reported by Rolling Stone magazine.

“What they’re doing is incredibly dangerous for public health. I think we have a responsibility to not reward them politically and to stand up against what they are pushing out there,” he added.

He continued by arguing that so-called “anti-science” politicians need to be cut off from the political process.

“Don’t let them walk in the door — don’t let them get your attention if they’re a denier of science,” he said. “I don’t care if you’re for the Democrat or for the Republican. Be for science. Be for reality.”

“Don’t live in this alternative universe that so many of them want to live in. And make sure you use your power in your communities to stand up for this industry, and stand up for the science, and stand up for public health,” he added.

FYI, Shapiro is such a believer in “science” that he supports men in dresses competing against women:

These complaints come as Kennedy has been busy trying to make Obamacare more sustainable by dropping coverage for illegal aliens and no longer covering transgender procedures.

“With this rule, we’re lowering marketplace premiums, expanding coverage for families, and ensuring that illegal aliens do not receive taxpayer-funded health insurance,” RFK said in a press release.

These proposed changes are estimated to save $12 billion next year.

Asked by The Times to comment on the complaints from leftists within the administration, HHS spokesperson Andrew Nixon fiercely defended Kennedy.

“Secretary Kennedy was appointed to drive bold, necessary reforms in a system long plagued by inefficiency and complacency,” he said. “Streamlining outdated programs, ensuring fiscal discipline and demanding transparency are not attacks on science — they are a defense of it. Secretary Kennedy remains committed to evidence-based leadership that serves the American people — not the preservation of status-quo bureaucracies.”
