Democrats lost their minds over an apparent slip-up by Vice President JD Vance, who during his Friday visit to Los Angeles, referred to Sen. Alex Padilla (D-Calif.) as “Jose Padilla” in remarks to reporters.
While he was discussing the anti-ICE riots, the vice president referred to Padilla’s stunt of showing up at DHS Secretary Kristi Noem’s press conference in LA and “lunging” at her in a deranged manner, a move that ended up with him being forcibly removed from the room and handcuffed just like any non-senator would be if they acted the same way.
“I was hoping Jose Padilla would be here to ask a question. But, unfortunately, I guess he decided not to show up because there wasn’t the theater, and that’s all it is,” he said. “It’s pure political theater. These guys show up. They want to be captured on camera doing something.”
OMG
JD Vance: “I was hoping [Senator] Jose Padilla would be here to ask a question…I guess he decided to not show up because it wasn’t the theater.”
The left is LOSING it over this right now.

The “City of Angels” has been the scene of violent mayhem in protest of the Trump administration’s efforts to enforce federal immigration law and Vance’s visit comes after a huge legal win after a federal appeals court ruled in favor of President Donald J. Trump, allowing him to retain control the National Guard to maintain order.
Two of the Golden State’s Democratic leaders, whose inciteful rhetoric has contributed to instigating the rioters, pounced on the vice president’s referring to their newest martyr as “Jose Padilla” to claim Vance’s slip was an intentional racist trolling of the Latino lawmaker.

‘Mr. Vice President, how dare you disrespect our senator?” Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass raged at a press conference after Vance’s remarks.
“How dare you disrespect him and call him Jose?” Bass added. “But I guess he just looked like anybody to you. Well, he’s not just anybody to us.”
“JD Vance served with Alex Padilla in the United States Senate. Calling him ‘Jose Padilla’ is not an accident,” Gov. Gavin Newsom wrote on X.

California’s other Democrat senator, conspiracy-mongering liar Adam Schiff, also assailed Vance.
JD Vance served alongside Alex Padilla, and knows better.
He’s taking this cheap shot to distract from the real fear and havoc this Administration is creating.
It’s pathetic. https://t.co/4fgjWvAWPz

“Despicable—something you’d expect from an internet troll. If I heard my kids make a crack like this they would be grounded for the rest of their lives,” fumed former Rep. Katie Porter (D-Calif.), who lost her bid for the Senate seat now occupied by Shifty Schiff.

JD Vance should honestly and sincerely apologize. But we all know he won’t. He’s a coward. https://t.co/NYJ9nHxyjQ

“JD Vance should honestly and sincerely apologize. But we all know he won’t. He’s a coward,” added the plus-sized Democrat who once allegedly dumped a bowl of steaming mashed potatoes on her abused husband’s head.
When asked about why Vance referred to the grandstanding senator as “Jose,” a spokesperson for Vance explained that it was an honest mistake and that “he must have mixed up two people who have broken the law,” according to NBC News.
Mayor Bass also angrily reacted to the vice president’s pointing out that she and Newsom’s rhetoric endangered the lives of law enforcement officers.
“How dare you say that city officials encourage violence? We kept the peace. You know that the federal officials that were here protected a federal building, they were not involved in crowd control. Crowd control was handled most aptly by the Los Angeles Police Department, the sheriff’s department and local law enforcement,” she said.
