In a surprising show of support, former Vice President Mike Pence praised President Donald Trump’s “decisive leadership” in decisions regarding Iran.
The Republican who has been critical of his former boss since the January 6, 2021, “insurrection” at the U.S. Capitol, told Fox News host Martha MacCallum that he couldn’t be “more proud” of Trump after U.S. strikes against three Iranian nuclear sites over the weekend. Pence’s applause joined the accolades of others who have been openly critical of Trump in the past, including former National Security Adviser John Bolton.
In an interview on “The Story,” Pence praised Trump after MacCallum asked if he regretted his criticism of the president and that he would not endorse him in the election.

“You know, the president and I have had our differences, which resulted in me staying out of the 2024 race,” Pence replied.
“But I have to tell you, I couldn’t be more proud of President Trump’s decisive leadership in this moment or the extraordinary professionalism and courage of our armed forces that brought about this historic mission,” Pence said.
“I mean, I must tell you I saw last night as really a continuation of the policies of our administration, where we isolated Iran as never before,” he added.
Pence continued his praise and emphasized how he had “no doubt” that Trump would act if Iranian leaders refused to cooperate.
“I’ve been there at his side and I must tell you I honestly had no doubt that if the Iranians did not step up and make a deal to dismatle entirely their uranium enrichment program, that President Trump would act, our armed forces would deliver and that’s just what happened,” Pence told MacCallum.
He emphasized that if former Vice President Kamala Harris were in the White House, she would not have taken the decisive action against Iran, but he indicated that he and perhaps some other Republicans who ran for president would have acted in the same way as Trump. Pence quickly claimed he was not looking in the “rearview mirror” and once again “commended” Trump.
Pence took to social media after the strikes against the Middle Eastern nation’s nuclear facilities, thanking Trump for his bold leadership.
President Trump Made the Right Call to deploy American Forces to strike nuclear sites in Iran and he should be commended for his decisive leadership. Bolton also sang Trump’s praises in an interview with CNN.
“Well, let me say this unequivocally: I think President Trump made the right decision for America to attack Iran’s nuclear weapons program,” he declared to CNN’s Kasie Hunt on “State of the Union.”
“And I think we’re on the verge of potentially seeing regime change in Iran as part of that. I think this is a huge change in the Middle East. It was a decisive action. It was the right thing to do. I thought somebody should do it for a long time. But better late than never,” Bolton said.
President Trump made the right decision for America to attack Iran’s nuclear program, as I have long recommended. The real threat to the US is the Iranian regime itself. By now acting against the nuclear-proliferation threat, we are likely undermining the regime’s stability. pic.twitter.com/fehBzTttYY

Many social media users questioned Mike Pence’s motives, and many Trump supporters continue to disdain the former vice president and others for their past criticism.
That’s surprising to hear him say that

Thanks to Martha for trying to get him all the way there, in recantation of his former falsity and unendorsement.

Pence shouldn’t even be speaking about President Trump after he turned his back on all of America!
