‘Bloodthirsty’: Radical Texas Imam Tells Muslims To Side With Iran During 35-Minute Anti-American, Israeli Sermon

Dr. Yasir Qadhi, a radical Imam, told his fellow Muslims to side with Iran over the U.S. and Israel during a lengthy sermon on Saturday at the East Plano Islamic Center (EPIC) in Texas.

Qadhi accused Israel of being a “blood thirsty, colonialist settler enterprise” that has committed “genocide” and called on his fellow Muslims to stand up against the “kaffir,” a slur used to describe “non-believers” of Islam. He shamed anyone who “sides” with Israel, which would include the U.S. government, which bombed three nuclear sites in Iran on Saturday.

“The two sides are not equal. On the one side, you have the bloodthirsty, colonialist settler enterprise,” Qadhi said. “The machine of cruelty that has industrialized genocide, trampled on every single remnant of human dignity. Unleashed a cruelty so depraved that it blatantly justifies starvation of tens of thousands of children. It has destroyed every single hospital. It has destroyed every single school … while their people are cheering them on. The average Israel, poll after poll shows, is in support of [Israel Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu … This is Israel, that is the reality.”

The Imam argued that Israel and Iran are not comparable and that the people of Iran are being treated unjustly by Israel. (RELATED: Iran Reportedly Attacks US Air Base In Qatar)

“How can you compare this with that while this is the height of injustice?” Qadhi continued. “No matter how angry you are, and yes, and while some of that anger is legitimate, some of that anger against politicians of that country of Iran is legitimate. No matter how angry you are, the two are not and cannot be the same! … I say this as somebody who strongly disagrees theologically and politically with the country of Iran. But still, you have Iran, even if it has mistakes, and the other, you have not just kaffir, but blatant kaffir, not just average kaffir, but the most deviant, arrogant Kaffir that we have not seen for many millennia.”

“No matter whatever mistakes the other sides is making, you cannot equate the two and so, in this current conflict going on, I state unequivocally that yes, while I do not support Iran unconditionally, in this conflict, without a doubt, the aggressor is Israel … I’ll criticize Israel a million times before I criticize the other side for doing what exactly in this conflict?” Qadhi continued.

Iran has a long history of stripping Iranian citizens of basic human rights and of brutally abusing and even killing those who violate their laws. The country’s “morality police” brutally beat and killed 22-year-old Masha Amini for violating its Islamist hijab regulations, which strictly requires women to cover their hair to avoid fines, arrests and even public flogging.

The Iranian regime has also sponsored terrorism, supported the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel and has attacked American troops in Iraq.

The Muslim leader claimed that Israel complains about the attacks on its civilians despite them doing the same to other nations, claiming that the nation has “dehumanized” Muslims and Arabs.

Qadhi criticized the U.S. for reentering a conflict in the Middle East and American politicians for taking money from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). While arguing that AIPAC is “controlling” American politicians, he cited Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz citing a Biblical verse to proclaim his support for Israel during an interview with Daily Caller News Foundation co-founder Tucker Carlson, and accused him of showing allegiance to Israel over the U.S.

The Trump administration has said the U.S. is not at war with Iran, but rather it is at war with its nuclear program. Trump warned during an address to the nation Saturday that Iran must seek peace to avoid attacks “far greater” than they have ever seen.

Iran launched “powerful and destructive” missile attacks against U.S. bases in Qatar and Iraq on Monday in retaliation to the bombings on Saturday. The number of missiles fired at the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar matched the number of bombs dropped on the nuclear facilities by the U.S.

Qadhi has frequently espoused harsh criticism against Israel. In 2014, he repeatedly likened Israel to Nazi Germany, stating that the Middle Eastern country dehumanizes Palestinians in the same way that the Nazis did to the Jews, and in a separate post wrote that the end of “modern day fascist nazism is near.” In 2016, he included a hashtag on Twitter that said, #ZionismIsApartheid.

The Muslim leader also suggested that Western governments and other non-Muslims were behind the rise of ISIS in a Nov. 16, 2014, Facebook post.

Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and the Department of Justice (DOJ) opened investigations into EPIC in March following its plans to construct an exclusively Muslim community, which would include housing, a K-12 faith-based school, apartments and a community college. Texas’ state government is currently investigating whether EPIC has engaged in religious discrimination and intended to incorporating Sharia law into its planned community.

EPIC, DOJ and Abbott’s office did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s requests for comment.
