North Somerset Council – a coalition of Labour, Lib Dem and Green councillors – has been busy thinking up new ways to waste residents’ time and money. Their latest idea is a so-called “Making Recycling Easier” scheme that does anything but – forcing households to sort their rubbish into six different bins, including a “new red bag” for plastics and metals, while also demanding separate bin bags for ‘soft’ items like clothes and ‘harder’ items like batteries. You’ll need a wheelie good memory just to keep up…
