Disney World employee shaming woman for her outfit draws split opinions

Split opinion on Disney’s dress code enforcement followed a parkgoer venting about her experience, mere weeks after gender ideology was given carte blanche.

“Suns out, guns out,” may be a popular phrase, but a gymfluencer’s outfit meant to beat the heat at Disney World in Orlando, Florida, evidently crossed a line according to one park employee. Such was the lament shared on the account of personal trainer Nicole Arena, where she said she was made to purchase a $45 t-shirt to get on a ride despite no previous objections to her attire.

“Was so happy to be here that I didn’t realize I was ‘improperly dressed’ and would be forced to buy a $45 tshirt or else I could not get on the ride I waited an hour for,” read the caption on a photo of her and her husband, John Whitespot.

As the post exceeded 50,000 views for the account with less than 1,400 followers, some defended the outfit that had become common place in public, while others were shocked at the expressed surprise that a bra might be considered inappropriate as a top for a family environment.

“My working assumption is that everywhere other than the pool, gym and … beach has a please wear a shirt dress code,” read one comment, while another stated, “It’s a sports bra. At a family friendly amusement park. wtf did you think was going to happen?”

Responding to the critics, Arena not only shared a post showing the entire outfit that she had on, but also challenged the notion that the attire was against the dress code as she asserted she had been allowed entry as she was and had encountered numerous employees before being told to cover up.

“So not only was I allowed entry into the park with what I was wearing and allowed onto the line even though I passed several people that were working on that specific ride, and they let me on with no problem –and the security at the front — it says right here there are no specific rules or dress code against wearing sports bras in Disney’s attire rules list,” she said while arguing others were wearing much more revealing outfits than hers.

“I had nothing showing other than my stomach and my arms, but you guys are acting like I went out naked,” she added. “Anyone who goes to the gym know it’s totally fine to walk around with a sports bra and leggings on. I just went to Disney, how I would go to the gym.”

As it happens, Disney’s dress code states, “Disney reserves the right to deny admission to or remove any person wearing attire that is considered inappropriate or attire that could detract from the experience of other Guests. Attire that is no appropriate for the parks–and which may result in refusal of admittance–includes but is not limited to … Clothing which, by nature, exposes excessive portions of the skin that may be viewed as inappropriate for a family environment.”

Of course, this was the same Disney that allowed a man in a belly shirt to enter the women’s restrooms and film himself along with the women and girls within the restrooms in the process.

While the park may not have done anything to stop the behavior, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier (R) told Benny Johnson that his office had opened a criminal investigation into the gender ideologue Lilly Tino for violating criminal code § 810.145 against video voyeurism.

“Yeah, we’re investigating this. We do not tolerate men or boys in women’s or girls’ restrooms, gyms, or private spaces. Here in Florida, we believe there are two sexes: men and women, and we are going to protect our girls at all costs,” the attorney general explained as a conviction would entail up to five years in prison and a fine as much as $5,000.
