Smug Dem lawmaker brings out prop with embarrassingly bad math and gets brutally checked

Rep. Melanie Stansbury (D-NM) proudly displayed a placard with a rather obvious math error that was quickly called out.

During a House Oversight meeting regarding the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Stansbury sat in front of a sign that she claims showed the results of a recent Quinnipiac poll. The only problem was that the numbers behind her added up to 110 percent. It didn’t take long for her Republican counterparts to take notice of the error.

Watch:

“Just a point of clarification, the poll behind you, behind our ranking member, it adds up to 110 percent,” said Rep. Brian Jack (R-GA). “I just wanted to clarify, is it meant to add up to 110 percent, or is that an error?”

“This is from a Quinnipiac poll that was held two weeks ago, and this is the data that was provided,” Stansbury said. “There is a wealth of information, including information about Donald Trump’s falling poll numbers, so you should take a look. Thanks.”

“I yield back,” Jack smiled.

“The gentleman yields, and it still adds up to 110 percent. That’s a fake poll right there,” said Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).

Despite her snarky demeanor, Stansbury’s placard contained an error in the “disapproval” category, which was actually listed in the poll to be at 57%, not the 67% indicated.
