Fox News hired conservative influence Brett Cooper to join their network as a contributor, the network announced on Wednesday.
Cooper signs on to the network several months after she parted ways with The Daily Wire and is set to make her first debut on “The Will Cain Show” on Wednesday, Fox News announced in a press release. In her new role, the conservative commentator will “provide cultural, social, and political commentary” all across the network’s platforms.
The 23-year-old hosted the Daily Wire’s podcast, “The Comments Section,” from January 2022 until December 2024, which she now hosts independently. She announced her exit from The Daily Wire in December 2024 without pinpointing to an exact reason, though she assured her fans that she had not been fired.
Since departing from the outlet, Cooper’s personal YouTube channel has maintained 1.58 million subscribers, where she uploads videos of herself discussing politics, pop culture, current events and other aspects of life from a young person’s perspective. She launched her own podcast, “The Brett Cooper Show,” in January 2025 where covers a wide range of topics.
Fox News has hired a slew of young influencers to its network, including former college athlete Riley Gaines and Tomi Lahren, at a time when most millennial and Generation Z individuals do not tune into cable news. The average age of a Fox News viewer currently stands at 69 years old, while the average viewer of MSNBC and CNN are 70 and 67 years of age, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Cooper was likely hired at Fox News to help the network reach younger audiences, a source familiar reportedly told the Daily Mail.
Fox News averaged a total of 3.012 million primetime viewers and a total of 1.9 million during the day, according to AdWeek. The network is outpacing its competitors, particularly CNN and MSNBC, which averaged 558,000 and 1.024 total primetime viewers.
The new contributor graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and had roles in the entertainment industry for about 10 years. Before signing with The Daily Wire in January 2022 to host “The Comments Section,” she had written for the Foundation for Economic Education and served as an ambassador for Turning Point USA and PragerU.
