Rapper 50 Cent Makes Cash Offer to NYC Socialist Mayoral Candidate [WATCH]

Rapper and entrepreneur Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has offered to pay New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani to leave the state permanently, following the candidate’s public proposal to raise taxes on wealthy residents.

The multi-platinum recording artist posted on Instagram that he would provide Mamdani with $258,750 and a one-way first-class ticket out of New York after the Democratic socialist targeted high earners, including 50 Cent himself, during a podcast appearance on The Breakfast Club on June 11.

Mamdani, who recently defeated former Governor Andrew Cuomo in the Democratic mayoral primary, used the interview to explain his tax policy goals.

He proposed a 2% increase on the state income tax for New Yorkers earning $1 million or more annually, saying the adjustment would apply to profits and not just total revenue.

“I know if 50 Cent is listening, he’s not going to be happy about this,” Mamdani said during the podcast.

“He tends to not like this tax policy, but I want to be very clear this is about $20,000 a year.”

The mention prompted an immediate backlash from 50 Cent, who publicly rejected the proposal and questioned Mamdani’s political presence.

“Where did he come from? Whose friend is this?” the rapper wrote.

“I’m not feeling this plan. No.”

He also posted a direct message to Mamdani: “I will give him $258,750 and a first class one way ticket away from NY.”

50 Cent later added, “I’m telling Trump what he said too!” in a follow-up post, including a thinking emoji.

The comment appeared to signal his intent to bring the tax proposal to President Donald Trump’s attention.

Zohran Mamdani, a sitting state assemblyman from Queens and self-identified Democratic socialist, has campaigned on progressive fiscal policies, calling for higher taxes on corporations and upper-income earners.

In his Breakfast Club interview, Mamdani also pushed for increased funding for public transportation and expressed a goal to “Trump-proof” New York City, though he did not provide details on how that would be implemented.

Beyond tax policy, Mamdani is now facing scrutiny over his past statements and affiliations.

Representative Andy Ogles (R-TN) has formally requested the Department of Justice open an investigation into Mamdani’s citizenship process.

In a letter, Ogles cited concerns that Mamdani may have misrepresented his background during naturalization.

“The naturalization process depends on the good-faith disclosure of any affiliation with, or support for, groups that threaten U.S. national security,” Ogles wrote.

“If Mr. Mamdani concealed relevant associations, that concealment may constitute a material misrepresentation sufficient to support denaturalization under federal law.”

The New York Post previously reported that Mamdani had publicly expressed support for individuals convicted of terrorism-related offenses prior to his naturalization.

The report also noted that Mamdani had written rap lyrics supporting Palestine, which are now being examined as part of questions about his political affiliations and past statements.
