‘We shouldn’t rely on the Obamas to save America’

As the Democratic Party continues its search for an influencer worthy of the title, the reality of a former first lady’s podcast rings hollow.

Having been overtaken by Trump Derangement Syndrome, the left has resorted to pushing open borders and unborn baby murder as key planks of their party platform. Having failed to resonate for the second failed White House bid by now-former Vice President Kamala Harris, some have suggested former First Lady Michelle Obama could at least be an example of what the Democrats are looking for with messaging.

Covering her podcast “IMO,” an abbreviation of in my opinion, USA Today suggested that while Obama had expressed no interest in running for office, her public commentary “may guide Democrats.”

“… as Democrats search for a liberal counter to the right-wing media ecosystem that helped Trump win back the White House by reaching millions who don’t pay attention to mainstream media, the online show of a relatable and popular Democrat could be what they are looking for,” suggested the article by Phillip M. Bailey and Sarah D. Wire. “Regardless of what Democrats want her podcast to be, Michelle Obama has demonstrated she’ll do her show her way.”

Reacting to suggestions that the former first lady would run for president, supporter Natalie Graves told USA Today, “My first response is an eye roll. If a person says that they don’t want to run, what are we talking about? They’re ignoring the fact that she has made it very clear that she hates politics.”

Likewise, Maryland resident Steven Uzoukwu told the outlet, “It’s important for her to stay within the public space, so it’s good that she wants to be active. She endorses candidates and stuff of that nature. I have no problem with that.”

“I just think we shouldn’t rely on the Obamas to save America,” he added as most of her videos garnered thousands to tens of thousands of views, a far cry from the hundreds of thousands to millions of views Joe Rogan received on YouTube alone.

Considering the response the public has had to some of the statements that Obama had made on the podcast she started with her brother Craig Robinson in March while steering clear of politics, it seemed a stretch to think the former first family has its finger on the pulse any longer as many believe even their marriage is taking a dive steeper than the Democratic Party’s declining approval numbers.

After commenting on her differing views on bedtime with her husband, former President Barack Obama, Michelle recently drew criticism for expressing how “glad” she was that she hadn’t had a son, “Because he would’ve been a Barack Obama.”

“So this is the best way that she can create space and show the multi-dimensional nature of black women,” contended Democratic strategist Nina Smith of the podcast, “our thinking; how we engage friends; how we engage with people across racial lines; how we engage with our siblings; and the fullness of us, while also allowing her to speak to the issues of the moment.”

Meanwhile, as she hosted guest Dr. Sharon Malone, the OB/GYN wife of former Attorney General Eric Holder, Obama said on her podcast of a woman’s reproductive system, “The least of what it does is produce life,” leading many to challenge her views on motherhood as others suggested of the notion she could forge a path for the left, “Hate and division is ALL she has. I’ve never seen such an outspoken, hateful person.”
