Trump’s former campaign manager joins Lindsey Graham’s re-election team

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R) picked up more than President Donald Trump’s coveted endorsement as a key adviser joined the South Carolinian’s re-election campaign.

The weight of the president’s support has proven incomparable as interested candidates have expressed passing on running for office after the GOP leader’s thumb was placed on the scale. Now, Trump’s influence appears even more at play as his 2024 co-campaign manager, Chris LaCivita, joined Graham’s 2026 re-election campaign as an adviser.

“President Trump has made it clear that he wants Senator Graham by his side to keep delivering results, and I’m proud to do my part to ensure that happens,” LaCivita said in a statement published by The Hill Monday. “I’m excited to help reelect Senator Graham as he continues to bring the America First agenda home to South Carolina.”

The senator’s own remarks on the addition to his re-election team addressed the adviser’s experience, noting it “will help us keep winning for South Carolina.”

In March, Trump touted how “incredibly hard” Graham was working for the people of the Palmetto State. “Lindsey has been a wonderful friend to me, and has always been there when I needed him.”

“As the Chair of the Senate Budget Committee, Lindsey is fighting tirelessly to Grow the Economy, Lower Taxes, and Eliminate Government Waste,” contended the president. “Lindsey is also relentlessly focused on helping us Secure the Border, Stop Migrant Crime, Strongly Support our Great Military/Vets, Promote American Energy DOMINANCE, Defend our always under siege Second Amendment, and ensure PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH.”

On those points, Graham has earned Trump’s “Complete and Total Endorsement for Re-Election — HE WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN.”

On top of aiding the South Carolina legislator’s campaign, LaCivita has partnered with Tony Fabrizio in launching the Kentucky MAGA political action committee as the president voiced his disfavor with Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie’s (R) opposition to legislation like the One Big Beautiful Bill, labeling the congressman a “grandstander.”

Massie himself has challenged the polling of John McLaughlin cited in announcing the PAC that showed a 52% support for a Trump-endorsed candidate, to only 23% support for his re-election. “Any serious person considering running should spend money on an independent poll before letting swampy consultants take them for an embarrassing ride.”

LaCivita and Fabrizio were also active in the Lone Star State as advice was being given to the Texans for a Conservative Majority PAC and the re-election campaign of Texas Sen. John Cornyn (R). This came in spite of most polls showing challenger Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) with a considerable advantage over the incumbent, even if Trump were to offer his own endorsement of Cornyn.

As for a challenger to Graham, businessman Mark Lynch has announced his bid against the long-serving legislator and, though it remains to be seen how Elon Musk would act, the world’s richest man has vowed to start an America Party to challenge any member of Congress who campaigned to reduce spending but voted for the One Big Beautiful Bill and “the BIGGEST DEBT ceiling increase in HISTORY” of which South Carolina’s senior senator was pivotal in bringing to a vote in its current form.
