Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg was reportedly removed from the Oval Office after accidentally stumbling into a meeting.
The friendly relationship between President Donald Trump and Zuckerberg is no secret, but according to an NBC News report, the relationship might be a little too casual.
According to the outlet, Zuckerberg strode into the Oval Office while Trump was in a meeting with high-ranking military officials discussing the new F-47 stealth fighter jet. The Facebook owner was asked to leave the room because officials “worried that he didn’t have security clearance.”
“A young aide also came in during the meeting, showed the president something on her laptop computer and left. Trump’s cellphone rang a couple of times,” NBC reported.
Trump has previously referred to the office as “Grand Central Terminal” due to the high number of visitors who frequent the room on any given day.
“Trump will interrupt an Oval Office meeting and spontaneously pick up the phone and call a friend or confidant, a senior administration official said,” the outlet noted in their article. “Cabinet secretaries often mill around the building, popping in and out of offices with powerful advisers, including chief of staff Susie Wiles and deputy chief Stephen Miller.”
Responding to claims about the Cabinet secretaries, Trump’s deputy chief of staff for communications Taylor Budowich issued a statement:
“President Trump has assembled the greatest cabinet in American history—a group of talented individuals who embody the diverse coalition that delivered his historic election victory. Cabinet Member and White House Chief of Staff, Susie Wiles, has played an integral role in operationalizing his agenda through his administration and has ensured everyone is empowered with the tools to deliver on the president’s mandate.”
It is unlikely this move will have a negative effect on the working relationship between Zuckerberg and Trump, who are enemies-turned-allies after the social media magnate spent the president’s first term opposing his MAGA agenda.
