On her show Wednesday, SiriusXM’s Megyn Kelly ripped into the final verdict in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ case, adding she will make it her “mission” to remind the public of his “humiliation” if Hollywood decides to take him back.
After a seven-week trial in New York City, a 12-person jury found Combs not guilty of racketeering conspiracy and two counts of sex trafficking but convicted him on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. While discussing the evidence brought forward by prosecutors, Kelly read a piece from The New York Times that described Combs’ behavior in the courtroom Wednesday.
“Here’s a little bit more, [from] New York Times, with a touch of levity. ‘The judge said he assumed Combs would not want to return to the Brooklyn jail where he has been held. Combs shook his head vigorously and put his hands together in prayer.’ Oh, it’s all just so chummy inside the courtroom for this disgusting pervert, female abuser who I can’t believe is about to roam our streets again,” Kelly said. “I’m sorry, I’m disgusted by this verdict. This is fucking ridiculous!”
“I just find it absolutely outrageous the amount of crime that this guy just got away with. I believe he committed arson. He definitely battered Cassie. He battered Jane, too,” Kelly added. “The statute of limitations for battery in Los Angeles, California, is one year, one year. So if they didn’t charge him for battery within one year, and they couldn’t because he bought the tape and it remained hidden thanks to those security guards out there, then they could never charge him with that again. There’s no question. He dragged her back into that hotel room. Why wasn’t that kidnapping?”
Throughout the trial, 34 female witnesses were called to the stand, with Combs’ former girlfriend Cassie Ventura notably testifying she had been drugged and forced to participate in Combs’ “freak off” parties.
Kelly went on to say the prosecution will “only talk about” Combs’ former aide Capricorn Clark’s alleged kidnapping, after Clark testified that the artist allegedly threatened her at gunpoint to join him in a plot to kill rapper Kid Cudi. Cudi also took the stand, telling the jury that Combs blew up his Porsche after learning he had a physical relationship with Ventura. According to TMZ, prosecutors didn’t directly link Combs to the bombing, but Clark claimed Combs allegedly demanded she come with him at gunpoint, saying “We’re going to kill Cudi.”
Kelly said she believed “there’s no question” Combs had been “behind the arson” of Cudi’s car, adding how there had been “plenty of proof” from Ventura’s emails.
“The testimony from Daniel Phillip, who was the male escort, who heard Combs abusing Cassie behind the door, and she was screaming ‘I’m sorry, I’m sorry,’ as he heard him slapping her. ‘Get back out there.’ She came back out. She was shaking. She got back into the escort’s lap, physically shaking. She was so scared to the point where that guy couldn’t perform sexually because this was so horrifying to him,” Kelly said. “What? What in the actual F went on in there?”
Guest and legal expert Arthur Aidala then jumped into the argument, teasing Kelly that he would make her “more pissed off” before asking how quickly she believed Combs will be “accepted back into that Hollywood scene” after his sentencing.
“Look, I will make it my personal mission to maintain this humiliation in the minds of all Americans. There’s no question he’s fallen as this revered figure for a large portion of America. But he also has diehard fans who want to pretend this is a Johnny Depp situation where he was wrongfully accused,” Kelly said. “That’s my own view — by somebody who was out to get him, who played the victim when, in fact, she was abusive.”
“This is not that situation. This is not. Cassandra Ventura was an extremely sympathetic witness who was not some powerful ‘I’m going to play Kid Cudi against Sean Combs,’” Kelly added.
Following Combs’ verdict, supporters were seen outside the courthouse Wednesday pouring baby oil on each other — a reference to the large amount of baby oil officials reportedly found during the raid of his home in 2024.
