Blake Lively Subpoenas Candace Owens, Perez Hilton in Legal Dispute With Justin Baldoni

Actress Blake Lively has subpoenaed conservative commentator Candace Owens and blogger Perez Hilton as part of her ongoing legal dispute with director Justin Baldoni, as reported by Page Six.

The subpoenas were revealed Tuesday, with Lively accusing both media figures of collaborating with Baldoni to damage her reputation using their platforms.

Lively, 37, who stars in the upcoming film “It Ends With Us,” is currently engaged in litigation against Baldoni, 41, her former co-star. She claims that Owens and Hilton used their influence online to promote a smear campaign against her. TMZ first reported the development.

Owens, 36, responded during her Tuesday broadcast on the “Candace Owens” YouTube channel. She stated she had not yet been served with legal documents and only learned about the filing when TMZ broke the news.

“This is a hit,” Owens said. “They don’t want you to respond to any facts, because they aren’t interested in facts. This is a psychological game that they are playing with the masses.”

Owens denied receiving any compensation from Baldoni or his associates, rejecting the idea of being influenced.

“It might just be the case that I am beholden to no one, and I say whatever I am thinking at any moment of the day. That’s the problem with me. I don’t dance for money,” she said.

Hilton, 47, posted his reaction on social media Tuesday, saying the subpoena came as a surprise. “This is the first time I am hearing of it,” he said. “I have not been served with anything yet, and I also have not communicated with my lawyer, Bryan Freedman, about this.”

Freedman, who also represents Baldoni, previously accused Lively of using her friendship with singer Taylor Swift to influence the outcome of the case.

Lively had attempted to block a subpoena targeting Swift earlier this year. Although Baldoni initially pursued legal access to Swift’s communications, he dropped the subpoena in May after allegedly receiving information voluntarily.

That information reportedly came from Swift’s father, Scott Swift, who is said to have turned over materials, including text messages and details about alleged threats Lively made.

The legal case stems from Lively’s lawsuit against Baldoni for sexual harassment and other allegations. Baldoni had filed a countersuit for defamation and extortion, which has since been dismissed.

Despite Swift attempting to stay out of the dispute, the court has ruled that Baldoni can access private texts exchanged between Swift and Lively.

The case is scheduled for trial in March 2026. Representatives for Baldoni have not commented on the subpoenas.
