Royal Expert Says Prince Harry is ‘Totally Whipped’ by Meghan Markle, King Charles Knows It

Prince Harry’s devotion to Meghan Markle continues to stir controversy within royal circles, as one royal expert claims the Duke of Sussex is “totally whipped” by his wife — a sentiment allegedly shared by none other than King Charles himself.

Royal commentator and broadcaster Esther Krauke recently told The Sun that Meghan, 43, holds significant influence over Harry, 39 — and that it hasn’t gone unnoticed within the House of Windsor.

“We know that King Charles said something about him being whipped,” Krauke stated.

“We keep hearing things consistently coming out from courtiers and people that are close to the royal family.”

Krauke made her remarks during a discussion with veteran royal biographer Phil Dampier.

She suggested that Meghan’s relationship with Harry and her integration into royal life were more complicated — and problematic — than they may have initially appeared.

She pointed to the late Queen Elizabeth II’s shifting view of the former Suits actress as a reflection of the nation’s broader change in opinion over time.

“The Queen’s opinion of Meghan evolved, and it’s much like how the country’s opinion evolved,” Krauke said.

“And much like the public, I think the Queen thought Meghan was a breath of fresh air. Very intelligent, very well-spoken, obviously from her acting background.”

Initially, the Queen appeared to welcome Meghan with enthusiasm. “She worked, she welcomed her,” Krauke added. “I think, like much of the country with open arms, I think where things went wrong was clearly the cultural clash.”

That clash, according to Krauke, wasn’t just about tradition. She asserted that Markle entered the royal family with a misunderstanding of what royal life actually entailed — including its financial reality.

Krauke claimed that Meghan thought she was “marrying a billionaire,” only to discover that Harry’s actual wealth and royal status were not as substantial as expected.

“She was marrying a millionaire with, like, sort of a reduced status,” Krauke explained, referring to the Spare author, who now lives in Montecito, California, with Meghan and their two children, Archie and Lilibet.

“So that might have been not appealing eventually. But also I just, I don’t think she fully understood or was even interested in what the role was supposed to become.”

These assertions echo sentiments made by the late Lady Elizabeth Anson, cousin and confidante of Queen Elizabeth II, who shared rare insight into Meghan’s arrival into royal life in a posthumously published interview with royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith.

Anson, who passed away in 2020, told Bedell Smith that the Queen was privately cautious about Meghan’s intentions even before the 2018 royal wedding.

“The jury is out on whether she likes Meghan,” Anson reportedly said at the time.

Expressing concern, she added, “My Jemima is very worried. Harry is besotted and weak about women. We hope, but don’t quite think she is in love. We think she engineered it all.”

Following the wedding, Anson said tensions began to grow between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family — particularly with Prince William and Kate Middleton.

“Meghan and William and Kate are not working well,” Anson reportedly told Bedell Smith.

“That is what the Queen said, particularly about the two girls. It’s worrying that so many people are questioning whether Meghan is right for Harry.”

Perhaps the most stinging assessment came in Anson’s blunt appraisal of Harry and Meghan’s power dynamic.

“The problem, bless his heart, is that Harry is neither bright nor strong, and she is both,” Anson said.

As time passes, the rift between the Sussexes and the royal family seems no closer to healing.

With experts and insiders continuing to raise concerns about the foundation of the couple’s relationship, public interest in the royal drama remains high.
