We couldn’t do better than this?
There are several cities around the United States that have interest in getting an expansion franchise in Major League Baseball. Hell, most of the cities, if not all, would even take the team via relocation. It doesn’t matter, just give them baseball!
When it comes to frontrunners for the next team, Nashville and Orlando are two towns that always come up, and Charlotte also seems to make it into the conversation as well.
On the subject of North Carolina, Raleigh is another city attempting to bring an MLB franchise to town. In fact, a group leading the operation to bring a team to the city has linked up with the Carolina Hurricanes, the only professional sports team in Raleigh. The two entities have launched a hat line that’s promoting the idea of Major League Baseball being in Raleigh. First off, the hats are ugly, and I say this as somebody whose former stomping grounds is Raleigh and North Cackalacky in general. I’d love nothing more than to tell you that they’re awesome-looking, but they’re not, and on top of that, their logo looks way too much like the logo of the Montreal Canadiens.
Ugly and flirting with copyright laws?

The Canes are releasing a vintage hat line with a logo that looks… a little familiar. 🧐🧐 pic.twitter.com/IzeqRcCHxJ

And you better believe social media had a field day, per usual.
@grok logo is very much a copy of the Montreal Canadiens CH logo. Is there a motive to sue?

Too close to the Canadiens’ logo for my tastes.

@grok is there a copyright issue with these hats?

Back to the drawing board, Raleigh!
