NFL Super Bowl Champion and Former Eagles Linebacker Passes Away at 38 [WATCH]

Bryan Braman, a former NFL linebacker and Super Bowl champion with the Philadelphia Eagles, has died at the age of 38, his agent confirmed Thursday, as reported by The Independent Journal Review.

Braman’s agent, Sean Stellato, told ESPN that the former player passed away after battling a “very rare” form of cancer. Braman was diagnosed earlier this year and had been undergoing advanced treatment in recent months.

A GoFundMe campaign was launched in February to help support Braman’s medical care, raising over $88,000 in total. Among the contributors was former teammate and NFL star J.J. Watt, who donated $10,000.

According to the fundraiser page, Braman received CAR-T cell reprogramming therapy, a form of immunotherapy. While the initial treatment showed promise, the cancer reportedly advanced aggressively in recent weeks, spreading rapidly around vital organs.

Braman entered the NFL in 2011 as an undrafted free agent with the Houston Texans. He spent three seasons in Houston before signing with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2014, where he remained until 2016.

Known for his special teams contributions, Braman returned to Philadelphia for the 2017 season and was part of the Eagles’ roster during their historic Super Bowl LII victory over the New England Patriots.

During his NFL career, Braman appeared in 97 games. He was widely respected by teammates for his work ethic and intensity on special teams.

Outside of football, Braman was a father to two daughters, ages 11 and 8.

News of Braman’s passing prompted an outpouring of support from former teammates and fans alike. He is remembered for his toughness on the field and his commitment to his team, particularly during his time with the Eagles’ Super Bowl-winning squad.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been publicly announced.
