Media personality Dave Portnoy has officially confirmed a deal to bring Barstool Sports to Fox Sports coverage.
Portnoy, owner of Barstool Sports, issued the announcement Thursday on X with an accompanying video.
“Barstool Sports is proud to announce a new wide ranging partnership with Fox Sports,” he wrote. “This is the 1st time in our illustrious and notorious history that we’ve got a Tv partner we believe in and believes in us. I can’t wait to see wat we create together.”
Portnoy will be joining Fox Sports’ top viewed show, “Big Noon Kickoff,” and will star in a weekly show called the “Barstool College Football Show,” according to Deadline. Portnoy will be on a panel alongside college football legends Urban Meyer, Matt Leinart, Brady Quinn, Mark Ingram, Chris Fallica and host Rob Stone. This deal is set to make a splash in the college football media world. Portnoy and “Big Noon Kickoff” now will go head to head with ESPN’s “College Gameday” featuring Pat McAfee. Fox Sports was in search of a high energy, social icon to lean on for their entertaining commentary, and it looks like they got it.
Portnoy and Barstool Sports will bring lively personalities and opinions into Fox Sports coverage. This deal makes for some highly anticipated television for the upcoming college football season.
