London’s Metropolitan Police reportedly charged “Top Boy” actor Micheal Ward with two counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault.
The allegations are connected to one woman and allegedly occurred in January 2023, according to The Guardian. Detective Scott Ware, head of the team handling the investigation, issued a statement.
“Our specialist officers continue to support the woman who has come forward – we know investigations of this nature can have significant impact on those who make reports,” he said.
The actor pushed back against the allegations in a statement issued Friday. “I deny the charges against me entirely. I have cooperated fully with the police throughout their investigation and will continue to cooperate,” he said.

“I recognize that proceedings are now ongoing, and I have full faith that they will lead to my name being cleared. Given those proceedings, I am unable to comment further,” he said, according to The Guardian.

Ward faces two counts of rape, one count of sexual assault against a woman and two counts of assault via penetration, Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS London South Catherine Baccas said.
“We remind all concerned that proceedings against the suspect are active and he has a right to a fair trial. It is vital that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings,” she continued.
Ward began his acting career in the film “Brotherhood,” and is best known for his role as Jamie in “Top Boy,” which spanned from 2013 to 2022. He stars in the film “Eddington” alongside Joaquin Phoenix, Emma Stone and Pedro Pascal. (RELATED: Shannon Sharpe Reportedly Settles Rape Lawsuit)
