FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino issued a public statement Saturday indicating that ongoing internal investigations into alleged government corruption and abuse of power have revealed information he described as deeply disturbing.
Bongino shared the statement on X, where he offered limited details but emphasized the severity of the revelations and his personal reaction to them.
“What I have learned in the course of our properly predicated and necessary investigations into these aforementioned matters, has shocked me down to my core,” Bongino wrote.

“We cannot run a Republic like this. I’ll never be the same after learning what I’ve learned.”
The investigations in question were not specified, and Bongino did not provide any documentation or further explanation.
However, he made clear that the inquiries are active and ongoing, and that all procedures are being followed strictly in line with legal protocols.
“We are going to conduct these righteous and proper investigations by the book and in accordance with the law,” Bongino stated.

While he did not set a timeline for when the findings might be made public, Bongino reiterated that the efforts behind the scenes are real, deliberate, and aimed at uncovering the full extent of the facts.
“We are going to get the answers WE ALL DESERVE,” he continued. “As with any investigation, I cannot predict where it will land, but I can promise you an honest and dignified effort at truth. Not ‘my truth,’ or ‘your truth,’ but THE TRUTH.”
Bongino, a former Secret Service agent and commentator, was appointed FBI Deputy Director earlier in 2025 and has since kept a relatively low public profile compared to his previous role as a media figure.
Despite stepping back from regular broadcasting, he referenced his reduced visibility while assuring the public that his commitment to transparency and accountability remains intact.
“Things are happening,” Bongino said.
His statement did not indicate which federal offices, programs, or individuals are the focus of the current investigations.
However, his language and tone suggested significant concern over conduct within government operations.
During my tenure here as the Deputy Director of the FBI, I have repeatedly relayed to you that things are happening that might not be immediately visible, but they are happening.

Bongino’s comments come amid heightened public scrutiny of federal agencies and their roles in politically sensitive matters.
In recent years, several high-profile investigations and whistleblower complaints have increased pressure on government institutions to address claims of bias, overreach, and selective enforcement.
Bongino did not offer a projected completion date for the investigations, nor did he specify if findings would be referred for further legal action.
Nonetheless, he emphasized that the efforts underway are focused entirely on uncovering the objective truth.
The FBI has not released any additional statement regarding Bongino’s comments or the status of any ongoing internal probes.
It remains unclear when more information will be available to the public.
As of now, Bongino’s remarks on X stand as the only formal indication that investigations of this nature are currently taking place.
