‘Dear God!’ Detroit woman prays to make it through flooded tunnel; NYC train passengers stranded in deluge

Flash flooding in Detroit left locals “praying” to survive as they had to contend with the force of nature, coupled with failing infrastructure in the Democrat-controlled region.

Literally.

“Dear God, please let me make it through,” a woman is heard saying as she navigated a flooded tunnel near Detroit Metro Airport — over 2.5 inches of rain fell in just over an hour on Wednesday.

Flooding briefly closed sections of major roadways across New York City ahead of rush hour, and Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) suspended service on one of its busiest lines because of flooded tracks, ABC 7 reported.

“Some drivers on the Clearview Expressway in Queens ended up standing on the roofs of their stranded vehicles and a tractor trailer nearly fully submerged. The waters eventually receded and traffic slowly resumed, but officials still pleaded with people to stay home,” the affiliate further reported.

A video shared online by AccuWeather showed people desperately trying to navigate flooded subway stations, flooded subway cars, and so much more:

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
