Man Falls To His Death At Oasis Reunion Concert

A man in his 40s died from falling at an Oasis concert on Saturday at Wembley Stadium in London.

The Metropolitan Police force responded to reports of an injured person a little before 10:30 p.m. and found the man “with injuries consistent with a fall,” according to Associated Press. The man, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The police asked any concertgoers who witnessed the incident or unintentionally captured it on cell phone video to contact them, The Guardian reported.

A statement from Oasis said the band was “shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic death of a fan.”

“Oasis would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved,” it read.

The man reportedly fell from the upper tier of Wembley Stadium, with the highest stands 50 meters above the ground, according to The Guardian.

A spokesperson for Wembley Stadium also issued a statement and said, “Our thoughts go out to his family, who have been informed and are being supported by specially trained police officers.”

The man reportedly fell while fireworks were going off during the show’s finale, according to The Sun.

One fan who claimed to be underneath where the man landed said the incident was “horrific to see.” (RELATED: ‘Wild Stampede’ At Beyonce Concert Was Triggered In The Most Innocuous Way)

The fan added, “At first glance I thought it was a coat falling but then I saw the bloke on the concrete.”

One attendee who reportedly saw the man fall said, “I was in block 511, and the guy next to me slipped and fell. It was messed up.”

Several fans at the show remarked that they were afraid of losing their footing due to the number of spilled drinks and beers thrown around, according to The Sun.

One described the stadium floors as “like an ice rink.”

Another said, “Walking down the steps to our seats I thought, ‘It wouldn’t take much to slip and fall.’”

Saturday’s Oasis concert was the fourth of seven shows that the band has scheduled at Wembley Stadium as part of its Live ’25 Tour. The band went ahead with its fifth concert at the venue on Sunday, Aug. 3, and has two more shows scheduled for Sept. 27 and 28.

The Oasis Live ’25 tour started in Cardiff, Wales, and marks the first time lead vocalist Liam Gallagher and his older brother, lead guitarist Noel Gallagher, have played together in 16 years.

The last time Oasis toured in 2009, the band abruptly broke up after the Gallagher brothers got into a backstage fight at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris, France.
