Jockey Allegedly Throws Horse Race, And The Video Is Damning

These alleged pricks are gonna end up ruining gambling for us …

Veteran jockey Kirk Johnson currently finds himself in the middle of a massive horse racing scandal, with fans calling for him to be permanently banned after his recent race that took place at Fort Erie Race Track in Ontario, Canada.

There’s no way to figure out what exactly happened without an investigation, but with the video being so damning and Johnson being in horse racing for so long, it doesn’t look good.

Per Equibase, Johnson has raced in 7,782 events throughout his career, starting all the way back in 2005. He’s won 993 races, finished second place 910 times and has 1,010 third-place tallies. This year, he’s raced a total of 87 times. (RELATED: Alligator’s Pool Party Comes To End After Police Get Involved)

He raced Monday on a horse named Princess O Denmark at Fort Erie, with the event holding a $18,900 purse. And boy oh boy, did it turn into a blowout for Johnson … until it didn’t.

When the race kicked off, Johnson found himself in the lead, and it was gargantuan at that. And with the finish line just down the stretch, it looked liked Johnson had things wrapped up. It was a lock!

But then things got weird, as Princess O Denmark got slow and remained slow, which ultimately led Johnson’s opponent to blow past him to get the victory. It was one of the strangest finishes I’ve ever seen in a horse race, if not the strangest.

You can check out the wild scene here.

Did Kirk Johnson throw the race? … Well, we need a probe for that, but going by that video … yikes.
