Cubs’ Miguel Amaya Carted Off Field After Just Coming Back From Serious Injury

This is just rough … I feel for the man.

Miguel Amaya, a catcher for the Chicago Cubs, had an unbelievably bad break Wednesday after he just got back from a serious injury.

In the eighth inning of action against the Toronto Blue Jays, the 26-year-old had to be carted off the field following an injury to his left knee. When he was running to first base in an attempt to beat out the throw, he ended up buckling it after an awkward step.

Instantly, Amaya crashed into the ground and laid down in pain. Assistance came out to help the catcher in the aftermath of the scary scene, which ultimately saw him carted off as he appeared to cry. Wednesday’s game was Amaya’s first since May when he suffered a strained oblique, putting him on the 60-day injured list.

“Happy to be back with the team. Thank God (I’m) healthy,” said Amaya prior to his return, per OutKick.

Amaya had a stat line of four home runs, 25 RBIs, a .280 batting average and a .819 OPS in 27 contests for Chicago before getting injured.

WATCH:

You can’t help but to feel terrible for Miguel Amaya. From one serious injury to another serious injury, and he couldn’t even get through a whole game.

Talk about bad luck.
