Trump Baited Democrats. They Took It Hook, Line And Sinker

President Donald Trump’s federal crackdown on crime is already seeing results. The White House said Thursday that 29 illegal aliens were arrested, in addition to arrests stemming from an assault on a law enforcement officer, drug trafficking, and the possession of illegal firearms. Even just the presence of National Guard vehicles at D.C.’s infamously sketchy Union Station has had a chilling effect on vagrants who had flocked there.

Predictably, Democrats have chosen to attack Trump and his administration, framing their efforts to clean up the city as unnecessary and, erroneously, as an overstep in authority — an assault on the freedoms of Washingtonians and American democracy. Pot-banging liberal activists certainly seem to think that this is the beginning of a fascist police state. In doing so, both Democrats and their base took Trump’s political bait, hook, line, and sinker, putting themselves on the wrong side of a layup 80/20 issue.
