Well, you know what they say: when it rains, it pours.
Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham ended up taking a nasty fall Sunday and had to be assisted off the court during her team’s game against the Connecticut Sun. The incident came in the second quarter, causing her to suffer a knee injury and having to leave the contest early.
While making a sideline pass, Connecticut guard Bria Hartley fell down and went into the leg of Cunningham while under the Sun basket. Live action continued while Cunningham was grabbing her leg and hopping towards the baseline. Afterwards, she went to the ground, holding on to her leg while shouting in pain. Indiana gave confirmation that Cunningham suffered an injury to her right knee and kept her out for the rest of the contest.

Holy hell, what a rough season it’s been for the Fever. Caitlin Clark has been dealing with injury problems, point guards Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald are out for the rest of the season, and now here we are with Sophie Cunningham.
Talk about a metaphorical hurricane hitting your team …
Hurricane Erin transformed into a Category 5 storm Saturday, but by Sunday, it weakened to a Category 3.
However, the NHC is now saying that the major hurricane will likely restrengthen over the next few days.

Definitely a shameless plug … LOL … but in all seriousness: get well soon, Sophie. And the entire Fever at that.
