Bullet Hit Office Of Chiefs’ Andy Reid While He Was Inside: REPORT

The practice facility office of Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was hit with a bullet, penetrating the glass while he was inside working in 2024, according to a report Wednesday night from the Kansas City Star.

Reid, 67, wasn’t hurt in the incident, said Kansas City Police Department spokesperson Capt. Jake Becchina while speaking with the outlet.

Per the Star, the shooting took place outside of the Chiefs team facility in Kansas City, hit Reid’s office by going through glass and then got stuck into a wall around 15 feet from Reid. It happened May 4, 2024 just after midnight. (RELATED: NFL Hall Of Famer Andre Johnson Falls Victim To Burglary)

According to sources who provided information to the Kansas City Star, Reid’s office was later installed with bulletproof glass to protect the head coach.

Altogether, the three-story facility was hit that night with three gunshots, per the Star. The locations were: 1. above Reid’s office, 2. the third floor and 3. an air-conditioning unit. No one was struck by any of the shots.

Becchina stated to the Star that no one has been arrested as of yet, with the case being branded as an aggravated assault “because the building was occupied at the time of the bullet coming through the window.”

The KCPD spokesperson went on to say “there is no indication this was a targeted incident at any person or organization.”
