Buccaneers Cut Shilo Sanders Day After Punching Bills’ Zach Davidson

Needless to say, I think we all saw this coming.

NFL rookie safety Shilo Sanders, a son of Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders, has been informed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that he’s being cut from the team, according to his agents who told the information to Adam Schefter of ESPN. The NFL went on to confirm the news on their social media.

While speaking with Schefter, Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey, the agents for Sanders, said they are hopeful that Sanders will get claimed on waivers.

With the Tuesday deadline approaching, NFL franchises are in the middle of bringing down their rosters to a total of 53 players. (RELATED: Buccaneers’ Shilo Sanders Kicked Out Of Game For Punching Bills’ Zach Davidson)

The move from the Bucs comes a day after Sanders was slapped with an ejection against Buffalo after he threw a punch on Bills tight end Zach Davidson. Davidson was blocking Sanders, and after some strong shoves, this triggered the punch from Sanders, which brought on criticism from Tampa Bay head coach Todd Bowles.

“You can’t throw punches in this league — that’s inexcusable,” said Bowles, who also stared down Sanders after the incident. “They’re going to get you every time. You’ve got to grow from that.”

And just like that, he’s been cut … ouch.

In Shilo’s defense, I don’t think he ever had a chance to stay put with the Buccaneers, it just came at a horrible time with that punch.
