Micah Parsons Traded From Cowboys To Packers In Historic Blockbuster Deal

Jerry Jones and Micah Parsons dropped each other like a hot potato, wow.

Parsons, a two-time All-Pro, was shipped to the Green Bay Packers in a trade Thursday in exchange for two first-round draft picks, with one being in 2026 and the other in 2027, as well as three-time Pro Bowler Kenny Clark.

Afterwards, Parsons inked a four-year deal worth $188 million with the Packers, per several reports.

The contract, which features $120 million in guaranteed money, is the biggest deal for a non-quarterback player in the history of the National Football League, according to ESPN. (RELATED: Chiefs’ Rashee Rice Suspended For First Six Games Of Season)

Parsons, 26, posted a statement on social media when the news broke about his trade to Green Bay. In regards to playing for Dallas, he said it was his “destiny” due to cheering them on while a kid in Pennsylvania, expressing disappointment that his run with the Cowboys has ended.

“I never wanted this chapter to end, but not everything was in my control,” wrote Parsons. “My heart has always been here, and it still is. Through it all, I never made any demands. I never asked for anything more than fairness. I only asked that the person I trust to negotiate my contract be part of the process.

“This is a sad day, but not a bitter one. I’ll never forget the joy of draft night, the adrenaline of running out of the tunnel, or the brotherhood shared with my teammates, coaches and the staff who prepared me for every single game. Those memories are mine forever.”

Never a dull moment in Texas, that’s for sure.
