‘ABC Is Committed To A Disaster, And We Get To Watch It’: Conservative Podcaster Calls Kimmel’s Return ‘Beautiful’

Conservative podcaster Ben Ferguson said Monday on Fox Business’ “The Bottom Line” that it’s “beautiful” that late-night host Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension has been lifted because conservatives will get to watch the “disaster” ABC is “committed to.”

Disney announced Monday it would lift Kimmel’s suspension and bring back “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Tuesday evening. Since the show was pulled Wednesday, Democrats have complained about free speech being stifled. Fox’s Dagen McDowell asked Ferguson how liberals have responded and what he thinks they will do next.

“It’s cancel culture 2.0 now with the Democratic Party. ‘We’re in favor of free speech only if it’s our guys,’ number one. And two, ‘Now that we’ve brought him back, what does this mean?’ I actually think this is beautiful, and just hear me out for a second. Now, everybody knows how bad Jimmy Kimmel is,” Ferguson said. “Now, there’s been a light that’s been shined on the bigotry and hatred of conservatives and Christians and flyover country by Jimmy Kimmel, because all of the old clips have now been put together in montages and have gone viral on social media.”

Disney’s ABC announced Wednesday that Kimmel would be indefinitely suspended following his Sept. 15 monologue, in which he said the “MAGA gang” had hit “new lows” and claimed Republicans were trying to portray Kirk’s alleged assassin as “anything other than one of them.” (RELATED: Zohran Mamdani To Boycott Local ABC Town Hall Over Jimmy Kimmel)

In response, Democrats, including California Rep. Eric Swalwell and former President Barack Obama, accused Republicans and Trump’s administration of taking “cancel culture” to a “new and dangerous level.”

Ferguson went on to say that not only does he not believe Kimmel’s show will last long but that conservatives now get to witness how the “free market” will reject him.

“So if you are watching Jimmy Kimmel now, you are someone that I think hates 50-plus percent of Americans. I don’t think he’s going to survive this in the ratings long-term. But now ABC News is committed to a disaster, and we get to witness it and watch it as the free market is going to decide,” Ferguson added. “They will reject this, and they’re going to reject it big. Then they’re still going to have to fire this guy or cancel him down the road.”

“So, you know what, for all the Democrats you just played a moment ago that were freaking out, welcome to Freedom of Speech,” Ferguson said. “I’m so happy to have you over here with us. God bless you. It’s going to be fun, because the next time you start saying that any one of us should be canceled, I’m going to play those words right back for you.”

Following Kimmel’s Sept. 15 monologue, the late-night host doubled down Tuesday against Vice President JD Vance, who called out violence from the far-left. Kimmel said “many in MAGA-land are working very hard to capitalize on the murder of Charlie Kirk.” According to the Wall Street Journal, sources told the outlet that Kimmel allegedly planned to defend his remarks, claiming his words had been “twisted” by some Republicans.
