A judge who presided over the appeal of a convicted pro-life activist has been reported amid concerns over his impartiality, according to the Christian Legal Centre.
Deputy County Court Judge Ciaran Moynagh heard the appeal of Claire Brennan, the first person convicted under Northern Ireland’s abortion clinic censorship zone law.
But Judge Moynagh was previously awarded Humanist of the Year by Humanists UK for his legal activism on abortion rights.
The Christian Legal Centre says his long-standing public campaigning has prompted urgent calls for his recusal and a review of the case.
