I have always had a somewhat nervous reaction to autobiographies published during the author’s lifetime, as this book is, and it is a nervousness shared by Eryl Davies himself.
His justification for doing so includes the fact that, in his own words, ‘I want to explain my thinking and responses in major moments of my life’, having ‘been privileged to live longer than many and through decades of major social and cultural changes in Wales with the inevitable impact on churches.’
