At least 30 individuals were arrested Monday night after anti-Israel protesters took over an engineering building at the University of Washington (UW), igniting fires and blocking streets in an attempt to pressure the school to cut ties with Boeing, as reported by Fox News.
The group behind the occupation demanded that UW sever all partnerships with the aerospace and defense manufacturer, citing Boeing’s role in producing military equipment used by Israel.

Boeing has a longstanding relationship with the university and has donated millions of dollars in support of campus research initiatives.

According to university officials, the demonstrators—many of whom wore masks and concealed their identities—illegally entered the building and barricaded themselves inside.
Outside, protesters blocked surrounding streets and ignited two dumpster fires as police in riot gear arrived to clear the area and regain control.
Video footage from the scene showed chaotic conditions as authorities attempted to disperse the crowd. One protester outside the building was heard shouting:
“Abolish the police. Every cop dead is a victory for the resistance.”

University of Washington officials issued a statement condemning the occupation and the associated antisemitic rhetoric.
“The UW is committed to maintaining a secure learning and research environment and strongly condemns this illegal building occupation and the antisemitic statement that was issued by a suspended student group Monday,” the university stated.
“The University will not be intimidated by this sort of offensive and destructive behavior and will continue to oppose antisemitism in all its forms,” the statement added.
We condemn last night’s violent and illegal occupation of a UW building. Roughly 30 people were arrested and we thank UWPD, Seattle Police and the Washington State Patrol for their assistance in a swift resolution.

UW police, working in coordination with local law enforcement, began clearing the exterior of the building around 10:30 p.m. before entering the facility at 11:00 p.m.
Thirty individuals were taken into custody and face charges including trespassing, property destruction, disorderly conduct, and conspiracy to commit all three.
The protest was organized in part by the group “Students United for Palestinian Equality & Return,” a suspended student organization at UW.
The group posted on social media Monday evening, instructing supporters to “wear a mask, and cover identifiable features,” and accused the university of aiding a “genocide” in Gaza through its relationship with Boeing.
“The University of Washington is a direct partner in the genocide of the Palestinian people through its allegiance to its partnership with Boeing,” the group claimed in a statement.
It further accused Boeing of producing “bombs, missiles, and other weapons of destruction” allegedly used in Gaza.
The group also hung a banner renaming the engineering facility “Sha’ban Al-Dalou Building,” in reference to a 19-year-old Palestinian man reportedly killed during the October 14, 2024, Israeli strike on Al-Aqsa Hospital in Gaza.
Last night at the University of Washington, Antifa protesters occupied the brand new engineering building to protest Israel. They lit dumpster fires, created blockades and chanted “Death to the police.” Police made about 30 arrests.

Israel has said the strike targeted a Hamas command center embedded within the hospital.
University officials said the damaged building is now secured and investigations are ongoing.
