“What President Trump has done in the first six months of his administration — it’s incredible,” Rep. Marlin Stutzman (R-IN) said during a sitdown interview at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. “He was able to build off of his first term and … he understands what it takes to bring people together.”

Stutzman, who spoke at the red carpet premiere of CBN’s “The Revival Generation” documentary, brought up Trump’s past attempts to bridge divides with North Korea and the president’s efforts toward what he described as “diplomacy in conversations” with others.

“President Trump knows how to bring people together,” he said. “And one of the things that I saw over the past several months is how he handled the situation with Iran and with Israel.”

Stutzman continued, “Here you have a country that’s attacking one of our strongest allies in the Middle East, Israel — and President Trump makes the decision not to go to war, but to go take out their threat of a nuclear bomb.”

The congressman focused on other efforts as well that he sees as bringing nations in conflict together, mentioning India, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Russia, and other nations embroiled in conflict:

“What he is doing in the Middle East with the Abraham Accords is actually bringing countries together and focusing on commerce rather than on shooting at one another,” he said. “The situation in Gaza, of course, is a tragic situation, but you have to stop evil.”

Stutzman said Trump’s leadership has been helpful in these scenarios.

The congressman also spoke “The Revival Generation,” a film that explores the “powerful move of God … stirring across college campuses.” Stutzman believes a positive faith trajectory is emerging as culture changes and people move closer to the Lord.

He said young people, in particular, are waking up to want more spiritually.

“At the end of the day, every one of us as human beings, we want to know, ‘What is truth?’ because that creates stability in our lives,” Stutzman said. “There’s nothing more securing to me as an individual to know what I believe.”
